I first bought a bottle of Slane because I wanted a cheap liquor to put in a decorative decanter that I received as a gift. I don't usually buy Irish whiskey, but the Slane was inexpensive. I filled my decanter and sampled a shot, and found Slane to have an excellent smoothness and flavor. Now I keep my home bar stocked with Slane.
