The Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec Champagne originates from an assembly of 50 different crus of the sparkling wine region par excellence, including important Premier Cru and Grand Cru. Fruit of the typical blend of Champagne, that is of grapes of the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier varieties, it is completed with a part of reserve wines, all according to the proportions that regulate the style of the maison. Lovely and crisp, with aromas of peach blossom, caramel, baked pears, honeysuckle, and grapefruit. The finish is light and fresh, with a lingering note of mousse.
This bottle is a treat for champagne-lovers and ideally suited for dessert. During Madame Clicquot’s time, it was served in carafes to allow the wine’s flavors to fully expand and to show off its golden color. Pair it with dishes that have a fruit or cream base, such as pear tart or crème brûlée.
