The latest Boss Hog is an incredible, limited expression which finds inspiration in the Portuguese explorer. This rye is aged 17 years with two consecutive rounds of finishing. This homage to worlds old and new uses Spanish oak staves and South American teakwood for finishing, adding layers of international flair to this whiskey. The complexity is on full display from start to finish with intense aromatics of sweet cinnamon, brittle, toffee, toasted oak, vanilla, and coffee. The palate is awash in baking spices, along with a fruity cherry sweetness, charred oak, and dark chocolate. The warming finish has lingering cinnamon and vanilla spice tones.
